Rocksmith 2014 coming out sometime in October of 2013 and some thoughts on Rocksmith 1

Why there is a Rocksmith 2014 article on HuffPo UK but not one on regular HuffPo is beyond me.

Originally posted on the HuffPo UK in a chopped down 250 word version.

An article on Rocksmith on the HuffPo? Glad I came back. Haven't checked into the HuffPo in ages. Tweaked my profile a bit. HI THERE!

I am amazed that Rocksmith 1 and now Rocksmith 2014 have not received the amount of press/praise/attention they deserve considering they are the 8th Wonder of the World.

"Rocksmith 2014 kicks the shit out of Rocksmith 1"

- Paul Cross
Creative Director, Ubisoft, restorer of faith in humanity

Now that's a bold statement and Mr. Cross can be forgiven for such an outburst considering he and his team have achieved the modern day equivalent of stealing fire from the Gods and giving it to humanity... for $79.99 with the Rocksmith Real Tone Cable and $59.99 without the Rocksmith Real Tone Cable of course. Don't know how much that is in British Pounds, sorry.

I've had Rocksmith 1 for the PC for a year now and I am not even close to unlocking all the venues, guitars, pedals and such so methinks I am not getting Rocksmith 2014... for now. In any case I am a big pussy and will be waiting for IGN, Andrea Rene from Mahalo (The only reason I got Rocksmith 1 was because Andrea said "you can plug virtually any electric guitar"), Lucy James from GINX (Lucy James playing Rocksmith 1... so sexy) and the rest of the gaming intelligentsia to issue a verdict on just how much more awesome is contained inside the 2014 edition compared to Rocksmith 1.

Is this comment already running the length of an amazon review? Sorry about that.

I can only hope that Conan O'brien (Team Coco, help me out) picks up Rocksmith 2014 for a "Clueless Gamer" segment if only to see Aaron Bleyaert fuck up Rolling Stone's "Satisfaction". I know, I know: Slash is pushing Bandfuse. Conan loves Slash, I love Slash, Slash rocks but I don´t have an Xbox; rocking out on the PC thank you very much.

If you would have told me back in 1993 that one day I, who am all thumbs, would be playing Nirvana's In Bloom ON A REAL GUITAR LIKE A HUMAN BEING I would have probably herniated a disc from laughing so hard at you.

And now, in defiance of God and the laws of nature I'll give Pantera's I'm Broken a whirl. Blistered fingertips. Spirit of Dimebag Darrell, be with me now!

Sorry to be nerding out like a fanboy but, God damn!

I used to work in a laid back kind of office where the boss would whizz by on a blade scooter and in the corner you'd find a PS3 constantly hogged over by the Rock Band scene kids.
I played Rock Band and thought "meh". There's something so very satisfying about hearing yourself attempting to play a song on a real guitar as opposed to tapping shmoopy colored buttons on a kiddy Fisher-Price guitar-shaped game controller like a shit chucking monkey.

Left hand cramped up. MOOOTHERFUUUUUUUUUCK!

Guns n Roses - You could be mine - Rocksmith

Charted by noelrose
Another Smithy's Anvil joint.
This day in history: Use Your Illusion
Released on midnight of September 17, 1991, the Use Your Illusion albums were among the most anticipated in rock history.
What better way to celebrate than to butcher "You could be mine" with the help of good old Rocksmith.

Where Eagles Dare - The Misfits - Rocksmith

SWEET CTHULHU!
FUCKING AROUND WITH THE ROCKSMITH AND THE ZWEI STEIN VIDEO EDITOR.
Another great Misfits song on Smithy's Anvil.
This time with moar production values.
KP's "I kissed a girl" starts out with a bukkake of musical notes. A lot of that wheedley wheedley wheee stuff.
I take it down a notch and focus on slamming on those chords like a motherfucker.

Katy Perry - I kissed a girl power metal version.

Para vos Giuseppe, y todos los pibes de la esquina!

Said I wasn't going to procrastinate and here I am.
Ubisoft doesn't put out new stuff for Rocksmith 1 no more, but Smithy's Anvil picks up the slack. Good for you Smithy's Anvil. You literally rock.

Sprinkle metal on ANYTHING to make it palatable.
Still somewhat surprised Rocksmith 1 didn't get a lot of hype. Wish Ubisoft the best with Rocksmith 2014.
Still haven't unlocked most of the shit on Rocksmith 1 so I'll pass on Rocksmith 2014... for now. Still, best $79 I've ever spent.

Drawing poison from the reptile.
